Throughout 2010 &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; will help to run an arts day in local secondary schools where students will get the chance to take part in drama, dance, film and creative writing workshops.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Dance – Taster Workshops&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Trish is planning a number of taster workshops in primary schools during January and February.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;February&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;A night in tribute to Jim &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;Daly&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;, celebrating the life and artistic contribution of Jim &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;Daly&lt;/span&gt;, Feb. 19&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"&gt;th,&lt;/span&gt; The Forum, Song and Words, local musicians will play Jim's favourite music with words from his favourite authors. Adm. €10&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;March&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;‘Graffiti’ a new theatre in education play&lt;/span&gt; will tour local secondary schools from Monday March 8&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt;. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;St. Patrick’s Day Parade&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_12"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; combine all workshops to bring the 25&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_13"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; birthday to the streets.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Reading by Creative Writing students&lt;/span&gt; as part of Sean Dunne Literary Festival, Sat. 20&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_14"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; March, &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_15"&gt;Greyfriars&lt;/span&gt; Gallery.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Second Workshop programme&lt;/span&gt; starts on week beginning Monday 22&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_16"&gt;nd&lt;/span&gt; March (Drama, Dance, Film and Visual Art).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;April&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;New Writing launched&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; In April we will end our creative writing course for teenagers with a publication of new work on the &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_17"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Film Dance&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; In early April (Easter) Trish is planning a film dance project which will involve dancers from 12 years upwards working with Ken Coleman (film worker) to create a dance film. They plan to use an original soundtrack from a local musician / composer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;May&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;World Dance Fusion&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_18"&gt;WYD&lt;/span&gt;moves will have its major dance production in Garter Lane in late May (28&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_19"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; and 29&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_20"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt;) this has a provisional theme of a ‘World Dance Fusion’.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;June&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Theatre in the Woods&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_21"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; will stage a new work outside Waterford City and again in a local woodland. This production allows for actors and dancers from various age groups to work together on a fun project. One of the ideas we are looking at is a version of ‘The Hobbit’ story by Tolkien.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Film Summer Project&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_22"&gt;In June WYD&lt;/span&gt;-Eye Film Unit will begin its Film Summer Production and will take place over the summer months and see young people write and direct their own short film. This project is supported by Film Professionals from the industry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;July&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;‘Proms Night’.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt; All the members of &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_23"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; will have a mad ‘Hollywood’ night downstairs at the Forum. A night of talent and fun with special comperes and prizes and we hope this will become an annual night in &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_24"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt;’s Calendar (Sat. 3rd July).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Performing Arts Summer School&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_25"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; will once again join forces with Garter Lane to have a performing arts summer school for children. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Make a movie, make a play, make a dance – in one week&lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;!&lt;/b&gt;&amp;nbsp; Throughout the summer – for children &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_26"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; are planning to have more intensive weeks where young people will sign up for a week of a certain discipline (drama, Film, dance etc.) and they work towards a sharing at the end of the week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_27"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; Summer Theatre Project&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; will kick-off on Mon. 12&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_28"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; July this year, earlier than usual, as we want the show (working title ‘Consent’) to be staged as part of our August Birthday celebrations. This new play is commissioned from local writer Adam Wallace and will be directed by Jim Nolan.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;August&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_29"&gt;WYD&lt;/span&gt;-Eye Dance week&lt;/span&gt;. Trish is planning a dance week culminating with performances over the Festival Weekend&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;'Consent'&lt;/span&gt; by Adam Wallace and directed by Jim Nolan, our new Summer Theatre production opens at Garter lane Arts Centre on Tuesday 17&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_30"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;25&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_31"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; Birthday Mini-Festival&lt;/span&gt;. Running over the weekend of August 20 /21/22 &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_32"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; will celebrate with present members and families and ex-members in various locations around Waterford the birthday of the organisation. Over twenty productions, readings, dance works, film screenings are planned under the guidance of Artistic Director Nick &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_33"&gt;Kavanagh&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Family Picnic Day&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Also as part of the 25&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_34"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; Birthday on Sunday 22&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_35"&gt;nd&lt;/span&gt; we are provisionally planning a Family Picnic Day with a number of dance pieces presented.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;'Memories' Arts Exhibition&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Other events planned for the weekend include a ‘Memories’ art exhibition by ex-members and friends of &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_36"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; under the title ‘Memories’.&amp;nbsp; This exhibition is curated by Linda &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_37"&gt;Hatton&lt;/span&gt; (nee &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_38"&gt;Kavanagh&lt;/span&gt;) and &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_39"&gt;Doireann&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_40"&gt;Larkin&lt;/span&gt; – both now based in the UK.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;'Pen and Pipe&lt;/span&gt;'.&amp;nbsp; Also, a new book of Jim &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_41"&gt;Daly&lt;/span&gt;’s writings will be launched as part of the festival. Edited by Robert Browne, with help from Mark Roper and Jim Nolan, this book will contain extracts from plays, poetry and prose written by Jim over his lifetime.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;'The Archive&lt;/span&gt;' An exhibition of memorabilia from the last 25 years will also take place curated by &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_42"&gt;Eimear&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_43"&gt;Cheasty&lt;/span&gt; and Kate McCarthy. This exhibition will include posters, &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_44"&gt;flyers&lt;/span&gt;, photos etc. but also personal items held by ex-members and families of ex-members over the years.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;September&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Third Workshop programme&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; starts on week beginning 13&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_45"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; September  (Drama, Dance, Film and Visual Art).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;October&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Diversions 2010&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Seven local writers will write a new work to take place in a site specific location – last year it was the courthouse and in 2008 it was set on a bus journey. This will once again be part of Imagine Arts Festival.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Citywide Youth Dance Celebration&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Trish is planning to organise the dance celebration as part of Imagine 2010.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;‘Scene 15’ Youth Film Festival&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; will celebrate issue-based and fiction short films by young people.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: 130%; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;December&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Christmas in the Marketplace&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_46"&gt;WYA&lt;/span&gt; will for the first time in its history stage a Nativity Play. As a tribute to Ted O’Regan, we will be staging a new version of the 1950's French play ‘Christmas in the Marketplace’. Ted was always asking when we would stage this work and now finally we have decided to give it a go.
