Plenty of time to apply for the 16th Annual 'Ted and Mary O'Regan Arts Bursary' ( The purpose of the Award is to assist an individual or individuals, either from or with a strong connection to Waterford City or County, to pursue and develop their chosen arts discipline.) inaugurated in 2005 in honor of this power couple who done so much for the arts in Waterford.

Criteria for the Bursary is open and flexible, people of any age can apply. In the past the Bursary has facilitated recipients to attend a third level arts course, but this is not a requirement. The award will aim to fill the financial gap which prohibits an arts worker or arts student of any age or any arts discipline achieving their
artistic goal.
"It’s real. It's happening, it's an emergency; a crisis. The planet is under threat and the consequences of not acting are devastating. How can we can sing and dance when the world is burning up? The planet is under threat, a global crisis, but we don’t have know how or have the ability to do anything about it, we are young people, what can we do? And everyone around us seems to have their heads buried in the sand. Maybe we should just try to enjoy the summer, make theatre, make memories. Forget about it. But we can’t. Can we? We want to put on a good show, everyone loves the Summer Project. But some of us want to act, to take a stand, use this platform. The drama will unfold from the ensuing conflict."
The film looks at old Tramore when it was quite a small town but with big families. We hear stories about tragedies, romance, dances, Race Week, bits of history and tall tales, stories of emigration and great pubs, Cinema and train stories, learning to swim and heading ‘Down Around’. It captures little glimpses of life today and we see the cockle men in action, hear surfing stories and see the road bowling of Fenor.
It's almost the end of may and with the rising temperatures (hopefully) and the start of the summer vacation it's time to decide what summer camps / schools to sign up too. With plenty of sports camps in and around Waterford for young athletes, you may be asking what else is there for young people, one great option is the WYA Summer School.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Whether you're a fan of Kris Kringle, A modern day Scrooge or somewhere in between you have to admit its officially Christmas season. This year Waterford Youth Arts is kicking off the season in style with our new play - The Lost Elf.

"Christmas in Waterford City is on the verge of being cancelled....an elf has gotten lost from Santa and finds himself at the mercy of humans. Will their humanity and their Christmas Magic save him and bring him back to the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve? The pressure is on and the clock is ticking to g<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; text-align: center;">et the Elf home, however the Elf's heart begins to Break and his Christmas Magic slips away when he discovers that no one spends time with each other anymore and that there isn't much love and humanity to be found around the city. Evil & Eviller &the Evilness Corporation are insisting that the only way to have a good Christmas is to spend loads and loads and loads of money. A group of humans are our only hope - they may change their mind and realise wherever you find love it feels like Christmas, hopefully? or else.... Christmas will be cancelled." <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
