Great news everyone! We are launching a double DVD set of the Ballybricken and Barrack Street films which will be available in time for Christmas. A not to be missed window into the social history of previous generations and a perfect Christmas gift for local people. Tickets On Sale: 30 Hours for Waterford Youth Arts at Garter Lane

Leading members of Waterford's theatrical and creative community are coming together in January to take part in a special fundraising event for Waterford Youth Arts. The event will take place on Saturday 31st of January in Garter Lane, providing a great night of entertainment. Work will include a wonderful mix of short plays, performances, film, dance, music, song, poetry and all kinds of unexpected characters and creations. Early booking is essential. Date: Saturday 31st January 2015 Venue: Garter Lane Tickets: €12.50/€15.00

Please note that all money raised from this event will support the Waterford Youth Arts programme for 2015 as we continue to facilitate young people from Waterford to participate in creative activity. Please support this event & book tickets early!

Take Part in 30 Hours for Waterford Youth Arts

30 Hours for Waterford Youth Arts is taking place on January 31st in Garter Lane. If you are a former member of WYA or a member of the local arts community why not get involved? The evening will showcase the work of some of the best local adult actors, writers, directors, dancers, choreographers, film makers and singers as they get together to support Waterford Youth Arts in bringing creative activity to the next generation. Help us to bring another year of creative activities and productions to the young people of Waterford! 'The Christmas Wish' - Tickets Available Now!


Tickets are now on sale for 'The Christmas Wish' by Martina Collender. The show will run Monday 15th - Wednesday 17th of December and will take place here at the Arch, Barrack Street at 8pm each evening. Ballybricken & Barrack Street Films DVD


Hundreds of local people joined us for the recent premiere screening of the Ballybricken Film in St. Patrick's Gateway Centre. The film celebrates the history of the area and captures the memories of people who grew up in Ballybricken in the 1950's and 1960's. The film is about and for local people so we were delighted to see so many there. We are pleased to announce that we will be launching a DVD of the two films in the series - the Barrack Street and Ballybricken films in the very near future. Watch this space!

New Music Development at WYA

WYA would like to welcome Damien McDonnell on board as Music Development Worker. Damien is a well known percussionist and originally hails from Dublin. Damien hopes to develop some Samba Drumming talent among young people in Waterford and will also develop a one-stop shop for young people interested in music here at Waterford Youth Arts. Teen Art - New Visual Art Workshop

Teen Art will run on Mondays from 5pm-6.30pm and will offer expert artistic tuition for young people (13-16 years). Visual art classes for teenagers. Exhibitions, diverse art forms, art appreciation and more.

New Dance Schedule Launched!

We're all set to bring dance to life for young people from all over Waterford! Places available in our dance groups now for ages 3-4, 5-7 & 8-11 enrolling now. If you have young friends and family please pass on the word. Youth Dance ages 12+ watch this space for open call auditions. O'Regan Bursaries winners announced

stArt - New Arts Sampler Workshop Series Launched

Waterford Youth Arts is delighted to announce its new stArt arts sampler workshops for ages 9-12 years. Exclusively available on Fridays (4.30-6pm), these workshops will introduce young people to a variety of art forms with some of our best tutors.

WYA's 'The Crucible' at Garter Lane

26/8/2014:  Tonight is opening night and the unveiling of Waterford Youth Arts' production of 'The Crucible' in Garter Lane. A cast of 24 young Waterford actors were greeted with rapturous applause for their performances at preview nights over the weekend.

New children's play - 'Written in Stone'

Martina Collender has been commissioned to write a new children's play 'Written in Stone' for our young summer theatre show (9 - 14 year olds). The play will be presented as part of Wickid Weekend in June as part of the city's 1100th Birthday celebrations. The play will be staged outdoors on Friday 20th June - Sunday 22nd June. Next week Thursday 24th April in The Arch, a workshop will take place for all those interested in taking part. Please fill out a form in the office and come along.
