Fresh Film Festival - Finals

WYA has reached the Fresh Film Festival Finals

We are proud to announce that WYA's young film makers has made it to the Fresh Film Festival - Ireland’s Young Filmmaker Of The Year Junior Final with not just one but two of their entries.

The FFF is Ireland's top film festival for young people and has been running for the last 22 years and with over 1500 entries this year we have beaten the odds twice. The films submitted for this years festival were  “60 Seconds Remaining” and “Kinda Overwatch”. These films were created, recorded and edited by the young members of WYA’s Film Workshop's. 

The films are being shown in Screen 1 in Odeon, Limerick on Wednesday the 21st of March. 

These shorts are fantastic productions and they are well worth seeing if you get the chance.

Waterford Youth Art's has officially opened for the New Year and you can now register for all your favourite workshops.

The first workshops of the new year begin the week of the 15th of January. These workshops includes our Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Drama and Youth Theatre, Film, Contemporary Dance and Youth Circus Skills workshops, starting dates vary and more information about starting dates of all our workshops can be found on our workshop schedule page - http://bit.ly/2ENLDIN.

The price for a term of activity is EUR 45 euro per term apart from the Saturday Art Club which is EUR 65 euro per term to cover the cost of Art Materials. Discounts are available for two or more chikdren from the same family and a bursary is available if required.

Christmas Wish

Waterford Youth Arts unveil a Christmas performance at The Arch this week. On Wednesday the 20th and Thursday the 21st December, Waterford Youth Arts invites families to The Arch, Barrack Street to take a seat for 'The Christmas Wish' by Martina Collender.

The Festive tale follows the O'Neill family who are feeling the pressure of getting ready for Christmas and moving house. Tommy is counting down the minutes to Christmas day, But Lilly has turned into a teenager who is both tired of her family and the Christmas Season.

While cleaning out the attic Lilly comes across her old toys. Suddenly everything comes to life and Lilly must be convinced of whom she truly is and why Christmas is important. But is there enough time?

Waterford Youth Arts round out the year with a winter warmer for all the family in a special atmosphere at The Arch. Limited Capacity, Just 30 seats so prior booking is a must.

The Christmas Wish

Waterford Youth Arts is proud to present our annual Christmas Play for this year, The Christmas Wish. 

The play will be performed by the 15 to 19 year old members of WYA under the skilled guidance of Martina Collender who is the director and writer of this fantastic piece.

These talented young members are burning the midnight oil to give the performance of a lifetime, going to rehearsals three times a week to perfect this performance and countless hours of practise at home. Martina is a skilled playwright in her own right and very experienced in her field as she wrote for Red Kettle Theatre and the Comeragh Mountains Festival before joining WYA.

This play can be seen in at The Arch on Wednesday the 20th and Thursday the 21st of December.
Tickets are five euro’s per person and fifteen euro’s for a family of four. 

Tickets can be bought on Eventbrite; however spaces are limited so it would be best to buy yours as soon as possible. The show starts at 8 pm sharp so be there early to avoid disappointment.
This festive-season themed play is sure to be fun for the whole family.
